In the summer of 2015 we set off on a scuba diving expedition to Kamchatka and the Commander Islands. As a soviet military zone and border region close to the US it was forbidden land not only to foreigners but also to most Russians until the early nineties. Infrastructure still lacks but bureaucracy is plentiful. Nature is wild.

With the help of the local community we dived and explored the stunning landscapes which will be the foundation of our upcoming video focusing on natural heritage and its fragility. We also collected water samples to assess the impact of human activity in remote areas.

This expedition to "where Russia begins", as locals signs read, was possible thanks to the SES Neville Shulman Film Award. We are greatful to Neville Shulman and all our sponsors for their support.

Thanks!
