Russian Regatta

Today was "Navy Day" one of the most important holidays in Kamchatka. Our skipper couldn't take us diving as he was competing in a local regatta. He invited us to join his party. It was definitely an interesting experience! We motored to the start line (about 1.5 hrs away from жбф) and as their cheer before the race the skipper and two of his friends had some rum. We were worried that we would be extra ballast for his boat and make him lose the race, our worry disappeared as soon as we saw the boom of the foresail: a bamboo stick held by a crew member.

Although we didn't win the race, the fog finally lifted and we managed to see the volcano which dominates the bay!
